It is brewed in the university town of Tartu, Estonia. The brewery was originally built by a Belgian named Albert le Coq
In the production, barley malt from Lithuania and best Saazer hops are used
The name VIRU is a traditional name for a land area on the Baltic Sea coast, which was at that time inhabited by the "Vironians", a Finnish tribe.
As unique as its name is its packaging in a stylistic bottle, which is more than 100 years old, but still very modern and contemporary. The simple label represents the Estonian flag.
