Redbreast 12 Years Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey 70 cl / 40 % Irland

The "Redbreast 12 Years", clearly influenced by sherry casks, is a typical single pot still whiskey and one of the last advocates of its kind.

Of the many brand names under which Jameson whiskies were found, Redbreast was one of the best known. It was a representative of the original Irish single pot still whiskies, casked and bottled by the Gilbeys company. Unfortunately, Gilbeys faced supply problems from the 1970's onwards and bottled the last Redbreast in 1985. As a result, the Redbreast disappeared from the market for some years, although the brand was transferred directly to Irish Distillers, now a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. Today the whiskey with the robin on the bottle is one of the last of its kind. For the 12-year-old edition, different distillates are blended together, with a particularly high proportion stored in Oloroso sherry casks. The result is a multi-award winning whiskey with spicy, creamy, fruity, sherry-sweet and toasted notes.
