The makers of the Cardhu 12 Years were already happy about many a trophy: Is it the elegant design, the powerful aroma or maybe the balanced taste?

The Cardhu 12 Years presented in an elegantly curved, almost unusual bottle and is truly successful spoiled. After all, professional juries have honored the 12-year-old Speyside Whiskey since 2013 with four silver and two gold medals. Originally called Cardow whiskey distillery (namesake was as in many other cases, the location) rises from a picturesque mosaic of green meadows, undressed fields and scattered groves. The River Spey meanders a few kilometers further south through gentle hills. Since 1824, the Cardhu distillery produces single malt whiskeys; in 1893 it was sold to Johnnie Walker and taken over in 1925 by Distillers Company Limited. Since 1987, the company, like so many other Scottish distilleries, belongs to the giant company Diageo. However, this has not detracted from the appeal of the location: even today, the Cardhu 12 Years is stored in selected sherry and bourbon barrels in the ancient stone houses. Its aroma is reminiscent of heather, resin, honey and nuts. The palate is initially sweet and then dry. As befits a typical Scotch whiskey, there are always echoes of malt, peat and smoke.
