The Kavalan Podium is a single malt whiskey from Taiwan that matures in a mix of new American oak barrels and old single malt barrels. It is bottled with 46% alcohol and made from imported, malted barley.


In 2005, T.T. Lee dreamed up his own and founded his own whiskey distillery in Taiwan, which he named after the name of a Taiwanese native tribe. There is high humidity and temperatures 15 ° C above the Scottish average. It soon became clear that storage periods of twelve years or more in Taiwan would not be possible. However, the team of the Kavalan Distillery was not deterred by this and has meanwhile brought various whiskeys onto the market, with which they have already won numerous international awards. The podium is a single malt matured in a blend of old single malt barrels and new, selected American oak barrels fired from imported, malted barley. The podium has a fruity taste that mates with the oak of the barrels and lots of sweetness.
