The distillery was founded in April 2005 by the King Car Group, one of the largest food and beverage producers in Taiwan. With more than 30 years experience in beer brewing, the further processing of beer to whiskey was due at some point. The Scottish coppersmith Forsyths in Rothes delivered the 4 pot-stills. Other equipment includes a mash tun and eight stainless steel fermentors. Lively malt of the variety Optic is mainly sourced from Bairds of Inverness in Scotland.
