The Famous Grouse Blended Scotch Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland

The Famous Grouse is a well known blended Scotch Whisky, based on high quality Grain and Malt Whiskies. Aged separately for many years in selected oak casks, they are finally brought together to form the unmistakable Famous Grouse.

The Famous Grouse was introduced in 1896 by Matthew Gloag under the name "The Grouse". The whisky was not given the nickname "Famous" until 1905 due to its quickly achieved popularity. The company remained in family ownership for generations until 1970 when inheritance taxes forced the sale. In the following 20 years, sales figures developed positively and The Famous Grouse steadily increased its market share. With three million cases sold per year, the whisky is one of the top ten in the world. The owners of the brand, the Edrington Group, own some of the best distilleries in Scotland (Highland Park, Macallan, Glenrothes). It is therefore not surprising that the basis for the Famous Grouse Blend contains whiskies from exactly those companies. The taste of the popular Blended Scotch Whisky has a bit of everything: vanilla, dried fruit, spices, citrus and so on. Only the smoky and grainy notes are a bit short.
