Nomad Outland Whisky MINIATURE 5 cl / 41.3 % Schottland The Spanish house Gonzalez Byass has developed a first whiskey in collaboration with Richard Paterson, the master blender of Whyte & Mackay. The Nomad Outland Whiskey is a Scottish blend, which is followed by the sherry specialist for a period of 12 months. For this purpose former Bourbon oak barrels are used, in which Pedro Ximénez Sherry matured. HENDRICK's LUNAR Gin 70 cl / 43.4 % Schottland With its floral nuances and mild spiciness, Hendrick's Lunar Gin is the ideal gin variant for long nights under the full moonlight. Which botanicals are ultimately included in the new edition, however, remains a secret. With Hendrick's Lunar Gin, the team around master distiller Lesley Gracie brought out a sipping gin in 2020 that is entirely under the sign of the moon. The limited edition is the fourth variant of the world-famous Hendrick's Gin after Orbium (2018), Midsummer Solstice (2019) and Amazonia (2020). Allegedly, the Lunar Gin was enriched with botanicals that blossom under the light of the full moon - however, official sources are very cagey with further details. It is known, however, that the Lunar Gin has aromatic, floral and spicy notes with citrus-fresh hints. The gin is said to be the perfect companion to "moonbathing" - this practice is being courted by the Hendrick's team as an alternative to sunbathing in the glaring heat of the day. Ultimately, of course, it doesn't matter whether you taste Lunar Gin at night or during the day, under a full moon or a new moon, outdoors or indoors. With its mild, mellow, floral and spicy flavor, Lunar Gin is perfect to be served neat at room temperature - then the aromas of lemongrass, rosewater, cardamom, vanilla, orange, juniper, pepper, lavender and hibiscus are particularly distinct.

The Famous Grouse Blended Scotch Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland The Famous Grouse is a well known blended Scotch Whisky, based on high quality Grain and Malt Whiskies. Aged separately for many years in selected oak casks, they are finally brought together to form the unmistakable Famous Grouse. The Famous Grouse was introduced in 1896 by Matthew Gloag under the name "The Grouse". The whisky was not given the nickname "Famous" until 1905 due to its quickly achieved popularity. The company remained in family ownership for generations until 1970 when inheritance taxes forced the sale. In the following 20 years, sales figures developed positively and The Famous Grouse steadily increased its market share. With three million cases sold per year, the whisky is one of the top ten in the world. The owners of the brand, the Edrington Group, own some of the best distilleries in Scotland (Highland Park, Macallan, Glenrothes). It is therefore not surprising that the basis for the Famous Grouse Blend contains whiskies from exactly those companies. The taste of the popular Blended Scotch Whisky has a bit of everything: vanilla, dried fruit, spices, citrus and so on. Only the smoky and grainy notes are a bit short.

VALT Single Malt Vodka 70 cl / 40% Scotland It was two Scotsmen in Manhattan who had the idea to distill a vodka from Scottish barley and Scottish spey water, not a malt, but VALT. A natural product without any additives. When they began to put the idea into practice, it became clear that the production of a vodka such as the two Scotsmen had in mind required a completely new distillation method. They developed a completely new process, namely fivefold microdistillation - just for this vodka. After months of work, the idea became reality: Valt Vodka was distilled for the first time by Ricky Christie on St. Andrew's Day, the day of remembrance in honor of Scotland's patron saint, at the Speyside Distillery in Kingussie. And on January 25, 2007, on the anniversary of Scotland's national poet Robert Burns, the world's first Scottish single malt vodka was bottled for the first time. And it was bottled in a modern decanter with clean lines adorned with the "Lion rampant," the rising lion from the flag of the Scottish king. The designation "Single Malt Vodka" is based on the designation "Single Malt Whisky". It means that the spirit comes from a single distillery and is not a blend of several whiskies. In the case of VALT, the designation states that it is not a blend of several vodkas. Single malt whiskies also use only malted barley as the grain base and the water comes from the respective region.

Brew Dog ROGUE WAVE Single Malt Vodka 70 cl / 40 % Schottland The cool BrewDog Rogue Wave Vodka is from the name a wild monster wave, but you should not let that put you off. So it is made with great attention to detail. The distillery distills barley malt in a copper pot still with three bubbles, and wheat in a column still. Before bottling, filtration is in order for wonderful purity and smoothness. The clear BrewDog Rogue Wave Vodka pays tribute by name to the cousin of the company's founder, James Watts. He was nicknamed One-Armed Alex because he lost an arm in a fishing accident without ever losing his zest for life and daring as well. BrewDog Rogue Wave Vodka Product Information:In terms of aroma and flavor, BrewDog Rogue Wave Vodka has a lot to offer. The distillery's high-quality, expressive trendsetter has an oily to creamy smooth mouthfeel. A hint of vanilla sweetness joins subtle cereal notes. The Scottish vodka also endears itself to the connoisseur with a little barley malt and stone, along with a mineral undertone. Towards the finish, a peppery spiciness can be detected. BrewDog Rogue Wave Vodka is ideally suited for mixing cocktails and long drinks, although it is not as neutral as some of its competitors. It's marketed as "single malt" because, like whiskey, it's based on malted grain. In 2019, the promising new product from micro distillery won gold at "The Vodka Masters (The Spirits Business)".

Sanaig is the latest bottling of the Kilchoman distillery and complements the Machir Bay. A composition of 4- and 5-year-old ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, with a higher sherry casks compared to Machir Bay.The story of the Kilchoman distillery is told very quickly - their construction was only started in 2004 and at the end of 2005 production could start after some difficulties. On December 14, 2005, the first barrel was filled. Kilchoman is located just east of the homonymous village and was the westernmost Scottish whiskey distillery until Abhainn Dearg on the Isle of Lewis challenged her for this title. Kilchoman is a very small distillery. It only produces about 100,000 to 110,000 liters of pure alcohol. Only Edradour produces less - apart from micro distilleries like Loch Ewe. What is unique about Kilchoman is that all production steps are carried out here. This is how the distillery builds its own barley. This circumstance is probably due to the fact that is often read, Kilchoman would grow his own barley completely. This is not the case. To the approximately 100 tons of self-grown barley (which is incidentally 20-25 ppm), Kilchoman buys about 250 tons with 50ppm turfed malt from the Port Ellen Maltings. In addition to the other manufacturing processes, the brewing, the burning, the maturing and the finish, Kilchoman is also bottled 'on site'. A very worth seeing and worth reading report on a visit to the Kilchoman distillery can be found here.

The Glenrothes 12 Years The Soleo Collection Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland In 2018, the Speyside distillery Glenrothes turned its previous range on its head and launched sherry cask matured single malts with an age statement. Here is the 12-year-old version with notes of vanilla, melon, banana and cinnamon. The Glendalough Distillery advertises its products, which are produced outside the village of Rothes on a tiny, wooded stream, as “Luxury Speyside Single Malt Whisky”. Previously, the range was characterized by reserve bottlings without age statements and vintage bottlings with year statements, which were considered a Glenrothes specialty. However, following the takeover by the Edrington Group (also responsible for The Macallan, Highland Park and The Famous Grouse), a radical change was in the offing. The reserve and vintage versions have been discontinued once and for all. Instead, the “Aqua Collection” and the “Soleo Collection” have been available since the end of 2018, whose whiskies are predominantly presented with an age statement. The infamous, rounded Glenrothes bottle has not been changed in favor of the high recognition value on the spirits shelf. And as if in response to the wishes of customers, sherry casks were given more prominence than ever before. The Spanish term “Soleo” already hints at the sherry influence, as this is normally used by southern winegrowers. Maturation in sherry barrels not only brings advantages in terms of taste: As the wood soaked with the sweet wine gives off particularly intense color notes, all whiskies could be bottled with their natural color. The labels now also feature a small aromatic classification of the respective whisky in handwriting. With its vanilla, melon, banana and cinnamon aromas, De Glenrothes 12 Years reflects the style of the house, which is characterized as fruity, nutty and sweet and spicy. The maturation took place exclusively in sherry casks, which are not described in detail.

HENDRICK's Flora Adora Gin 70 cl / 43.4 % Schottland With rather floral notes, the new special bottling Flora Adora comes up just in time for the beginning of spring. In it, the notes of angelica come more to the fore through botanicals added to the classic gin. The finish reveals interesting rose aromas. Since 1886, the family distillery William Grant & Sons exists in Scotland. Today known mainly for its gin, but they first distilled whiskey, as is customary for Scotland. In 1966, William Grant's angel, Charles Gordon, bought two unusual stills - one of them an old Bennett, the other a rare Carter Head. What was to happen to these stills, however, did not emerge until 33 years later. The now legendary Hendrick's Gin was to be created in these special stills. For this gin, rose petals and cucumber are used in addition to the usual ingredients such as juniper berries, coriander, orris root and lemon peel. However, the flavors are carefully distilled out using steam and not boiled out as is usually the case. Only the best grain neutral alcohol is used as a base in the pot stills and Carter Head stills, which thus guarantee a particularly large copper contact and a soft taste of the gin. Almost all steps of the production process are still done in the old traditional way, with great attention to detail, in small 450-liter batches and by hand. However, even more is created in the distillery in its experimental laboratory, also called the cabinet of curiosities. This is where master distiller Leslie Gracie hides out to develop a few new gin creations. Each year, one of the creations enters production as a limited bottling, so in this case it was time for the Flora Adora. It follows previous special bottlings Neptunia, Lunar and Midsummer Solstice and stands out with its floral notes. Its base is based on the classic gin, with only rose and cucumber added as botanicals. On the palate, the floral notes come through clearly. The light pink gin is bottled in brown apothecary-style bottles.

Along the checkerboard streets of Glasgow, Irn-Bru has been writing magical powers for more than a hundred years. This is in a good old tradition, as the Scots have always had a tendency to imput dubious liquids the effect of magic potions. This miracle cure supposedly overcomes the side effects of other potions such as beer and whiskey: it's supposed to be a hangover killer. Not least, this reputation has contributed to the fact that in Scotland more Irn-Bru was sold at times than Coca-Cola, which is not unique worldwide, but very rarely. The smell of Irn-Bru goes slightly towards citrus, but it does not smell like fruit or even organic. It is more reminiscent of the synthetic fragrance of flavored chewing gum globules.

The Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak Single Malt Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland The 12-year-old classic of the Macallan distillery matures exclusively in Oloroso sherry barrels. The Old Sherry Oak Whisky spends its 12-year undisturbed aging in Oloroso sherry casks and is the classic of the Macallan Distillery. The barrels are made from the air-dried wood of Spanish trees, which are then filled with the world-famous sweet wine from Jerez for 18 months before making their way to Scotland. The distillery spares no effort in this respect and spends a proud budget for the exclusive production of the casks - which also explains the higher price of the Sherry Oak whiskies. Ultimately it is the barrels that transform Macallan's "New Make Spirit" fresh from the distillery over the years into a single malt with an aromatic mix of dried fruit, oak and spices. To ensure that Macallan Whiskies taste the way they are meant to taste, a six-person Whisky Mastery Team, led by Stuart MacPherson and Kirsteen Campbell, is working to make sure that Macallan Whiskies taste the way they should. Female influences are welcome at The Macallan, as whisky experts Sarah Burgess and Polly Logan are also part of the team.

HENDRICK's Gin MAGNUM 1.75 Liter / 44 % Schottland The Hendrick's Gin is something special. Say your inventor William Grant & Sons, which are actually better known for a good whiskey. Even more, you can find 2 characteristic components of Gins: roses and cucumbers.Again, particularly, of Hendricks gin which is produced mainly by hand since 1999, working with a very own production. The basis of gin are 2 different distillates: One in a pot still Bennet (pot still) distillation, a in a "Carter-Head pot still". These two are then mixed. The cucumbers and roses come afterwards added as essence. Thus, the Hendricks Gin becomes a "destilled gin". Botanicals: Juniper, Coriander Seeds, Angelica, Camomile, Yarrow, Lemon Peel, Orange Peel, Orris Root, Elderflower, Carraway Seeds, Cubeb Berries

The DALMORE 15 Years Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland The Dalmore 15 year old is smooth, rich and well rounded; the epitome of The Dalmore house style. This delicate and approachable vintage is initially matured for 12 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. The character of The Dalmore 15 is achieved by then splitting the whisky equally between three different sherry woods; Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem oloroso for a further three years. The spirit is finally married together in an upstanding sherry butt, allowing the flavours to infuse.

Chivas Regal 21 years ROYAL SALUTE 70 cl / 40% ScotlandThe Chivas Brothers, James and John Chivas began their careers in 1801 as caterers in Aberdeen. The store with exquisite delicacies for the elite of Europe flourished magnificently and one day the brothers came up with the idea to enrich their storage cellars with some barrels of exclusive Scottish whiskey and later even produce them themselves. Starting in the 1840s, they supplied not only Queen Victoria with their high-quality blends, they were also purveyors of K.u.K. Monarchy. Even before, the international breakthrough of the exclusive brand was only a matter of time and it therefore comes as no surprise that Chivas Regal is now the second largest Scotch whiskey manufacturer in the world. Although the company was acquired by the Pernod Ricard Group in 2001, the outstanding quality of the Chivas Blends has always remained the same, a fact that is certainly due not least to the virtuosity of Master Blenders Colin Scott.

ARDBEG 10 Years Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey 70 cl / 46% ScotlandArdbeg 10 years is one of the most famous single malts and is an absolute must for every fan of Islay. No whiskey embodies the mystical character of the island better than Ardbeg with its particularly high peat content. On the rugged banks of the southern part of Islay is the distillery Ardbeg. She prides herself on her private source - the water used by Loch Uigeadail is soft and pure. Nose: Smoky, salt water, iodine-like dryness Taste: Its balanced and deep aroma is characterized by a bewitching blend of caramel, sweet chocolate, cinnamon and phenolic notes. After initial sweetness, intense peat notes quickly develop with hints of tobacco smoke and espresso. Finish: Strong, with lots of iodineThe distillery Ardbeg was founded in 1815, where previously Schwarzbrenner had done their work. In 1817, two years after its founding, it passed into the family estate of the McDougall family and was not handed over to Hiram Walker as a new owner until 1977. This closed the distillery 4 years later. In 1989, thanks to the new owner Allied, it went into operation for a further 7 years, but without malting. Glenmorangie plc saved the jewel in 1997, had the building renovated and then went back into production. Fortunately, the change in ownership of Glenmorangie to Moët Hennessy has not yet had a major impact, except for management changes on the top carpet level.
