The liqueurs are made on the basis of tea, fruit extracts, herbs and spices. From the Tatra Mountains on the Polish-Slovak border, which rises to over 2,600 meters above sea level, come the origins of the Tatratea brand, launched in 2008. The inhabitants of this compact mountain region with dramatic peaks and passes have always made their very own tea. For this, hot water was poured over various herbs and enhanced with honey, ginger, alcohol and other substances. The recipes of these "teas" were very different in each case. In more recent times, it was mainly hikers and travelers who stopped in the mountain chalets who came into contact with the hot drinks.
