Ole Smoky's Blue Flame is bottled with 64% alcohol and made to family recipe.Whiskey has been made for centuries in Tennessee, but in the past this was usually done without a license to burn, which is virtually illegal - these spirits are traditionally referred to as moonshines. When the recession struck the US in 2008, several states sought a way to expand job opportunities and keep tax revenues. One option for achieving both was the loosening of the laws around the distilleries. The name has remained, and since 2010, the Ole Smoky Distillery at the foot of the Smoky Mountains attracts numerous visitors. With the help of Master Distiller Dave Pickerell, the company now produces 15 different varieties of Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine in its two branches, which are fired according to a 100-year-old family recipe using local ingredients. The unmistakable trademark is the mason jars instead of "normal bottles".The Blue Fame presents itself in a translucent blue tint and also produces bluish flames when it is lit - a testimony to the high quality. The 64% alcohol content requires that this unused whiskey from corn mash should be mixed mixed with water or various cocktail ingredients.
A high percentage Moonshine in 5cl mini format, which produces bluish flames when lighting. Those who prefer to drink it directly should dilute it accordingly.Mason jars are the unmistakable hallmark of Ole Smoky whiskeys. Following the tradition of illegal firing in Tennessee, the makers call their high-percentage spirits "Moonshines". In fact, strictly speaking, they are unlikely to pass as whiskey, since they lack the prescribed three years of barreling. The Blue Fame variety presents itself in a translucent blue tint and also produces bluish flames when lit - a testimony to its high quality. The 64% alcohol content requires that this unused whiskey from corn mash should be mixed mixed with water or various cocktail ingredients. The distillery recommends combining it with Ginger Beer and a little lime juice.
This 12-year-old whiskey, whose peculiarity has been influenced by both bourbon and sherry casks, is one of the world's best-selling malt whiskeys. In 1886, William Grant opened his distillery, which he had previously built with the help of his family and with the help of an architect himself. Only a few years later, in 1898, the first problems arose: The largest customer of Grant's Whiskeys, the Patisson company, went bankrupt. But giving up was not an option at Glenfiddich and so the effort finally paid off. Today, Glendfiddich has long been one of the best-known single malts in the world. This Glenfiddich edition matures for 12 years in American bourbon barrels and sherry casks from Spain.

The first edition of the Legacy Series is based on the original label of the legendary Old No.7 Tennessee whiskey: This was green and red with gold edges instead of black and white. The Old No.7 Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey from Jack Daniel's is the unsurpassed classic of the brand. For about a century, there was no one else but him. Today, the Jack Daniel's range is extremely diverse, with rye whiskeys, single cask bottlings, whiskey liqueurs and special editions. The Old No.7 Legacy Edition only changes the iconic label of the classic, which is known all over the world in black and white. Because: before 1904, the bottle was wrapped in green and red with a golden rim. This period in the long history of the Old No.7 is celebrated with the first edition of the Legacy Series. The contents of the somewhat unusual-looking bottle matured as usual in handmade white oak barrels and flowed through a thick layer of filtering sugar maple charcoal. The sweet and oaky taste works best when the whiskey is tasted straight or on ice. But Jack Daniel's Original also makes a convincing appearance in drinks such as Godfather, Whiskey&Cola, Whiskey&Ginger, Lynchburg Lemonade, Hot Toddy and Apple Jack.

If you are looking for a first-class single malt whiskey, you do not have to travel far. Because in addition to the Scottish homeland and the new world of Asia, Germany has meanwhile also made a name for itself in whiskey art. Probably the best-known among German whiskeys is the Slyrs from a distillery on the Bavarian Schliersee. It has been produced since 1999, with the classic being allowed to store for three years in a new American white oak barrel. This gives it a pleasantly mild aroma with a beautiful wood and malt character. There are also very nice fruity flavors. For the Slyrs, the makers set the highest quality criteria. Only the best Bavarian barley and fresh spring water may be used for its production. The entire production process then proceeds as one is used to from Scottish distilleries. There, in Scotland, the idea for the Slyrs also had its origin. On a study trip, the founder of the distillery felt reminded of his Bavarian homeland. He made a bet with a fellow traveler that he could also produce a single malt whiskey of high quality in Bavaria. The idea for Slyrs was born. Of course, the winner has won the bet. Today, Slyrs whiskey has made a name for itself among connoisseurs. The assortment has grown continuously and today includes various variants developed in different barrels as well as a twelve-year version of the whiskey. However, the three-year whiskey is still the classic from the house. So if you want to trace the beginnings and enjoy a piece of real German whiskey art, you can do so with this bottling of Bavarian Single Malt Whiskey.Aroma: mild, beautiful wood and malt, fruity aromas

Säntis Malt Appenzeller Single Malt Whisky HIMMELBERG 50 cl / 43 % Schweiz The secret of Edition Himmelberg lies in its maturation in different barrels. After two years in the oak beer kegs, two more years follow in different wine barrels. This maturation gives the whiskey a light and fruity note, which shows on the palate its true face with spicy and woody aromas. At the foot of the Alpstein are the hidden cellars of the Locher family, where the Säntis Malt matures. In 1886, the family took over the brewery in Appenzell, which is still brewery and distillery today. Brewmaster Karl Locher with the production of Säntis Malt. The brewery Locher AG came on the market in 2002 with the first products and entered the history books as a pioneer of Swiss whiskey production. Spicy barley, pure spring water from the Appenzeller mountains and the careful development in up to 130-year-old oak beer barrels give the single malt whiskey the only flavor and its award-winning quality.
JACK DANIEL'S Tennessee RYE Whiskey 70 cl / 45 % USA In Jack Daniel's Rye, the spicy-peppery rye character, which is due to the composition of the grain mash, comes into its own. For many decades, everything at Jack Daniel's revolved around the famous Sour Mash Bill of No.7, which is still on the market today in all sorts of variations. For the rye whiskey, the producer in the U.S. state of Tennessee finally ventured to create a new basic recipe. This time, 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley went into the vat to mash in and ferment. Charcoal filtration, which makes the bourbon a true Tennessee whiskey, then followed distillation and aging in typical American white oak barrels. The result is an aromatic blend of dry spices, sweet caramel and peppery rye.
The Famous Grouse Blended Scotch Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland The Famous Grouse is a well known blended Scotch Whisky, based on high quality Grain and Malt Whiskies. Aged separately for many years in selected oak casks, they are finally brought together to form the unmistakable Famous Grouse. The Famous Grouse was introduced in 1896 by Matthew Gloag under the name "The Grouse". The whisky was not given the nickname "Famous" until 1905 due to its quickly achieved popularity. The company remained in family ownership for generations until 1970 when inheritance taxes forced the sale. In the following 20 years, sales figures developed positively and The Famous Grouse steadily increased its market share. With three million cases sold per year, the whisky is one of the top ten in the world. The owners of the brand, the Edrington Group, own some of the best distilleries in Scotland (Highland Park, Macallan, Glenrothes). It is therefore not surprising that the basis for the Famous Grouse Blend contains whiskies from exactly those companies. The taste of the popular Blended Scotch Whisky has a bit of everything: vanilla, dried fruit, spices, citrus and so on. Only the smoky and grainy notes are a bit short.

LANGATUN GOLD CREAM Whisky - Likör 50 cl / 18 % Schweiz Langatun Distillery came up with this combination of sweet cream and Swiss whisky. In Aarwangen in the Aare valley, which provides an abrupt end to the elevations of the Swiss Jura, lies the Langatun Distillery, which specializes in Swiss whiskey. Here, in eight steps (grain sourcing - malting - mashing - fermentation - distillation - cut - maturation - bottling), whiskies of national repute are produced. Since Hans Baumgartner followed his family tradition and started the "Langatun" project in 2005, the company has been involved in a steady growth. In 2018, a new management team took over, consisting of two industry experts and entrepreneurs who had previously been initiated by Hans Baumgartner into the secrets of the distillery. In addition to single malts, they also have American-style bourbon and rye whiskey on offer. Of course, the whiskey liqueurs, which could also be described as "flavored low-strength whiskeys," are not to be missed. As a base, the master distiller draws on the company's classic single malt, which is then refined with sweet cream and reduced to a drinking strength of 18% vol. The Gold Cream Whisky Liqueur is ideal as an aperitif drink*, as an accompaniment to ice cream, as a baking ingredient or as a creamy, smooth cocktail addition.

The result is a beautifully balanced whiskey with intense golden color and a long finish.
The Pikesville Straight Rye was first produced in Maryland in the 1890s. At that time, the rye industry was booming until the prohibition between 1920 and 1933 put a sudden end to the trend. Nonetheless, following the abolition of the ban on alcohol, production continued and Pikesville became the last representative of the Maryland Rye whiskey. However, heavy rye whiskey followed, leaving the producing Monumental Distillery in Baltimore to cease production in 1972. Nevertheless, the Pikesville was never gone, as the distillery had large inventories. Since 1982, the Heaven Hill Distillery continues the legacy of the Pikesville Straight Rye and part of American whiskey history. Today, the award-winning Rye Whiskey is produced at the Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. This American Rye whiskey consists of 51% rye, 35% corn and 14% barley and is aged for 6 years, giving the product a pale copper color. Aromas of fine cocoa notes with oak wood smoke are complemented on the palate by honey-rye sweetness and clove, whereby the whiskey here is dry and soft. The finish is soft-spicy and contains vanilla.
Sanaig is the latest bottling of the Kilchoman distillery and complements the Machir Bay. A composition of 4- and 5-year-old ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, with a higher sherry casks compared to Machir Bay.The story of the Kilchoman distillery is told very quickly - their construction was only started in 2004 and at the end of 2005 production could start after some difficulties. On December 14, 2005, the first barrel was filled. Kilchoman is located just east of the homonymous village and was the westernmost Scottish whiskey distillery until Abhainn Dearg on the Isle of Lewis challenged her for this title. Kilchoman is a very small distillery. It only produces about 100,000 to 110,000 liters of pure alcohol. Only Edradour produces less - apart from micro distilleries like Loch Ewe. What is unique about Kilchoman is that all production steps are carried out here. This is how the distillery builds its own barley. This circumstance is probably due to the fact that is often read, Kilchoman would grow his own barley completely. This is not the case. To the approximately 100 tons of self-grown barley (which is incidentally 20-25 ppm), Kilchoman buys about 250 tons with 50ppm turfed malt from the Port Ellen Maltings. In addition to the other manufacturing processes, the brewing, the burning, the maturing and the finish, Kilchoman is also bottled 'on site'. A very worth seeing and worth reading report on a visit to the Kilchoman distillery can be found here.

The Glenrothes 12 Years The Soleo Collection Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland In 2018, the Speyside distillery Glenrothes turned its previous range on its head and launched sherry cask matured single malts with an age statement. Here is the 12-year-old version with notes of vanilla, melon, banana and cinnamon. The Glendalough Distillery advertises its products, which are produced outside the village of Rothes on a tiny, wooded stream, as “Luxury Speyside Single Malt Whisky”. Previously, the range was characterized by reserve bottlings without age statements and vintage bottlings with year statements, which were considered a Glenrothes specialty. However, following the takeover by the Edrington Group (also responsible for The Macallan, Highland Park and The Famous Grouse), a radical change was in the offing. The reserve and vintage versions have been discontinued once and for all. Instead, the “Aqua Collection” and the “Soleo Collection” have been available since the end of 2018, whose whiskies are predominantly presented with an age statement. The infamous, rounded Glenrothes bottle has not been changed in favor of the high recognition value on the spirits shelf. And as if in response to the wishes of customers, sherry casks were given more prominence than ever before. The Spanish term “Soleo” already hints at the sherry influence, as this is normally used by southern winegrowers. Maturation in sherry barrels not only brings advantages in terms of taste: As the wood soaked with the sweet wine gives off particularly intense color notes, all whiskies could be bottled with their natural color. The labels now also feature a small aromatic classification of the respective whisky in handwriting. With its vanilla, melon, banana and cinnamon aromas, De Glenrothes 12 Years reflects the style of the house, which is characterized as fruity, nutty and sweet and spicy. The maturation took place exclusively in sherry casks, which are not described in detail.
JIM BEAM SINGLE BARREL - 95 Proof 70 cl / 47.5 % USA One of the most famous brands in the world in terms of whiskey and bourbon is undoubtedly Jim Beam. Only 1% of the barrels that the distillery produces are good enough for this edition. Each bottle has the barrel number handwritten and was bottled at 47.5% vol (95 proof). Jim Beam is probably one of the most famous whiskey brands in the world. The history of the Jim Beam Group goes back to 1788. At that time, Jakob Böhm (Jacob Beam), who emigrated from Germany, settled in Kentucky, USA as a farmer. Like many of the farmers there, he began distilling the surplus of his grain harvest into whiskey. Initially, Jacob Beam produced only for his own use, but since his whiskey was well received by acquaintances, Beam began to produce and sell his whiskey commercially for the first time in 1795. It was his great-grandson Jim who laid the foundation for Jim Beam's worldwide reputation. Jim took over the then still small company in 1880 and produced high quality bourbon whiskey until Prohibition forced him to close the distillery in 1919. When Prohibition ended in 1933, Jim Beam was 70 years old. However, this did not prevent him from rebuilding the distillery and bottling bourbon whiskey again after four years of storage. Since then, Jim Beam still has direct relations with the descendants of the founding family and the famous bottle now adorns seven portraits of the Beam family. While individual barrels have been bottled as Booker's Small Batch Bourbon in addition to the standard whiskey since 1989, Jim Beam has greatly expanded its portfolio in recent years. One of the most successful new launches was Jim Beam Honey!

Jack Daniel's is the superstar among the Whiskey Brands which is the notoriety. No other whiskey company makes so much sales with merchandising like the company from Lynchburg, Tennessee. Born in 1846, Jasper Newton Daniel (most known as Jack Daniel) has already learned the craft of whiskey burning as a small child. In 1860, with only 14 years, he surpassed the distillery in which he had worked. In 1886 the distillery was licensed and is thus the oldest registered distillery in the USA.
The Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak Single Malt Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland The 12-year-old classic of the Macallan distillery matures exclusively in Oloroso sherry barrels. The Old Sherry Oak Whisky spends its 12-year undisturbed aging in Oloroso sherry casks and is the classic of the Macallan Distillery. The barrels are made from the air-dried wood of Spanish trees, which are then filled with the world-famous sweet wine from Jerez for 18 months before making their way to Scotland. The distillery spares no effort in this respect and spends a proud budget for the exclusive production of the casks - which also explains the higher price of the Sherry Oak whiskies. Ultimately it is the barrels that transform Macallan's "New Make Spirit" fresh from the distillery over the years into a single malt with an aromatic mix of dried fruit, oak and spices. To ensure that Macallan Whiskies taste the way they are meant to taste, a six-person Whisky Mastery Team, led by Stuart MacPherson and Kirsteen Campbell, is working to make sure that Macallan Whiskies taste the way they should. Female influences are welcome at The Macallan, as whisky experts Sarah Burgess and Polly Logan are also part of the team.
Jack Daniels old No. 7 Tennessee Whisky 70 cl / 40 % USA Jack Daniel's is the superstar among whiskey brands in terms of brand awareness. No other whisky company probably makes as much turnover with merchandising as the company from Lynchburg, Tennessee. In 1860, when he was only 14 years old, he took over the distillery where he worked. In 1886 the distillery was licensed and is the oldest registered distillery in the USA.

The latest release from the Japanese whisky masters at Suntory: a blend of the products of all three distilleries. Yamazaki, Hakushu, Hibiki, Chita and now Toki - these are the world-renowned whisky brands of the Japanese company Suntory. It was not until 2016 that blended whisky was launched in the square bottle, with a Japanese character on the label revealing its origin. Toki is the Japanese word for time, and quite coincidentally it also resembles the surname of the current master distiller, Shingo Tokii. He selected the very special malt and grain whiskies, which make up the blend and determine the taste of grapefruit, green grapes, peppermint and thyme, from the three in-house distilleries. The official recommendation is to consume it pure, on the rocks or as a highball - that is, with ice cubes and soda water.
80% of Moonshine Original is made with Tennessee-grown corn. The remaining 20% are a secret and give the original its taste. Here in the 50cl Ole Smokey mason jar.Whiskey has been made in Tennessee for centuries, but because of the few licenses, most manufacturers produce illegally - these liquors are called Moonshines. However, when the recession struck the US in 2008, several states sought a way to broaden job opportunities and keep tax revenues. One option for achieving both was the loosening of the laws around the distilleries. Since 2010, the Ole Smoky Distillery, also called "The Holler", attracts many visitors at the foot of the Smoky Mountains and has been the most visited distillery in the United States since its founding. With the help of Master Distiller Dave Pickerell, the company now produces 15 different varieties of Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine in their two branches, which are fired after a 100-year family recipe using local ingredients and sold in traditional mason jars. The Ole Smokey Original Moonshine is made with 80% Hickory Cane corn from local farmers, as it was supposedly the maize cultivated in Tennessee a hundred years ago. The remaining 20% of the mash is a secret. This Moonshine is young and unripe and therefore has a clear color.
Although the Ole Smoky distillery only exists since July 2010, it is based on a long-lasting tradition of whiskey distillers. The family of its founder Joe Baker was among the first to settle in the Smoky Mountains. Here the company still resides today. After the state of Tennessee abolished the prohibition laws, the family saw their chance to make their traditional businesses official. The result is a Moonshine, which is strong in taste, but also characterized by a gentle drinking experience and also has an excellent finish. It is believed that the name Moonshine derives from the English term "Moonraker", the name for a smuggler. Originally, he described privately distilled, illegal spirits that were produced during the prohibition period.Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine Original comes - in accordance with this tradition - in the jar and should, according to the manufacturer, exactly from this be enjoyed. So put the glasses back in the cupboard and indulge in this truly nostalgic experience.
