Jägermeister is a herbal liqueur, 35% vol. Contains alcohol. It is manufactured and bottled in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony. There is also the headquarters of the company Mast-Jägermeister AG. In Kamenz in Saxony and in Wittmar (Lower Saxony) there are two more bottling plants. The exact recipe of the Jägermeister has always been kept secret, but it contains 56 herbs, flowers and fruits and of course alcohol. While formerly the Jägermeister was known as Altherrengetränk, could be addressed in the late 1990s through a reoriented marketing campaign, a broader consumer segment. Especially in the US, Jägermeister has become very popular.
