Ole Smoky's Blue Flame is bottled with 64% alcohol and made to family recipe.


Whiskey has been made for centuries in Tennessee, but in the past this was usually done without a license to burn, which is virtually illegal - these spirits are traditionally referred to as moonshines. When the recession struck the US in 2008, several states sought a way to expand job opportunities and keep tax revenues. One option for achieving both was the loosening of the laws around the distilleries. The name has remained, and since 2010, the Ole Smoky Distillery at the foot of the Smoky Mountains attracts numerous visitors. With the help of Master Distiller Dave Pickerell, the company now produces 15 different varieties of Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine in its two branches, which are fired according to a 100-year-old family recipe using local ingredients. The unmistakable trademark is the mason jars instead of "normal bottles".
The Blue Fame presents itself in a translucent blue tint and also produces bluish flames when it is lit - a testimony to the high quality. The 64% alcohol content requires that this unused whiskey from corn mash should be mixed mixed with water or various cocktail ingredients.
