Back in the 90s, our constant need to experiment with culinary ingredients was considered heresy by some. But it was the passion and the constant trial and error that led to pure alchemy, and we began brewing with real fruit pulled from our brewpub kitchen. Made with sweet apricots, Aprihop blazed the trail as one of the first fruit-infused IPAs. That ongoing journey continues today with Flesh & Blood IPA. We could save time and money by brewing with fruit extracts. But for us, authenticity counts. For example, he exchanged the orange orange peel for the traditional sour orange peel of Curacao Orange to give it a fine sweetness. He also added oats and wheat to create a smooth, creamy beer that pampers the palate. The beer has a fine spiciness, with a perfect combination of orange peel and coriander. Mongozo Mango is a rich exotic fruit beer from an African recipe. The soft yellow color and rich fruit flavor of fresh mangoes distinguish this fruit beer. We use honey as an ingredient, as is traditional to this beer style, rather than as an additive. This means that much of the sugar is fermented out so only the aroma and flavour remain.
