Pitu is number 1 among the Cachaca brands. The trademark of the Pitu is a shrimp that occurs in the region where Pitu is made. Mostly the Pitu is drunk in the Caipirinha. Connoisseurs often even speak of a Piturinha. Caipirinha Recipe:1-2 limes, brown sugar, 6 cl cachaca and crushed ice. Wash the lime well with warm water, then add the cinnamon and put it in a stable long drink glass with the brown sugar. About Cachaca
Cachaça is distilled from fresh sugar cane juice rather than molasses, which sets it apart from rum and gives it a grassy, faintly sweet character. White cachaça (branca) is unaged and punchy, ideal for caipirinha and batida; golden cachaça (envelhecida) rests in wood, turns softer and is best neat or over ice. For one caipirinha use 5 cl cachaça, half a lime in wedges, two teaspoons of cane sugar and crushed ice. Pitú and Cachaça do Brasil are the affordable all-rounders for mixing, Germana and Leblon the bottles to sip. - Cachaça is distilled from freshly pressed sugar cane juice, most rum from molasses. Cachaça tastes grassier and fruitier, rum rounder and sweeter.
