Silentium has been given a lot of time to reach perfect maturity: for a long time the wine rested in barrique in the silent cellar and could develop its full strength undisturbed. Enjoy it with a nice meal or just like that! Puglia, in southern Italy, is one of the country's most productive wine-growing regions. From the spur of the boot near Foggia to the tip of the heel behind Lecce, Puglia stretches for 400 kilometers. The area has the most grape varieties in southern Italy, about 80 percent of them red. Mediterranean climate and calcareous subsoils with iron oxide-rich layers above create perfect conditions for viticulture. In the dry, hot summers, the grapes ripen optimally, and the wines become deeply dark, earthy and full-bodied. Unlike the other southern regions, there are hardly any mountains here; the landscape consists mainly of plateaus and flatlands. This is a wine-growing region with enormous potential - the possibilities of the countless autochthonous grape varieties are far from exhausted.
