As the name implies, the Brewdog Punk IPA is an India Pale Ale. The emergence of IPAs is almost legendary. In order to preserve the beer in the 19th century for the long journey from England and Scotland to the Indian colonies, beer had to be brewed with as much alcohol and hop content as possible, otherwise it would be spoiled during the crossing. Out of this tradition, the Brewdog Punk IPA has emerged.
Anyone who fills the beer in the glass immediately notices the clear amber-like color of the punk IPA. Already by the smell one can close on the fruitiness of this beer. The enjoyment is then a slight sweetness to hear the worn by fruity notes. Especially mango and peach notes determine the taste of the punk IPA. The India Pale Ale typical bitterness is quite soft at punk IPA and not too dominant which makes it very enjoyable. Therefore, the Brewdog Punk IPA is also great for IPA newcomers.
