AUCHENTOSHAN Three Wood Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70 cl / 43 % Schottland Scottish whiskeys are traditionally divided into Highland and Lowland whiskeys. The birthplace of the Auchentoshan Three Wood north of Glasglow is geographically part of the Central Lowlands and is virtually at the transition from low to highlands. Like many other Scottish whiskey distilleries, Auchentoshan Distillery has undergone numerous changes of ownership. It was founded in 1823, with some experts assume that it emerged from the founded in 1800 Duntocher Distillery. The truly special thing about the manufacturing process is the triple distillation that all single malt Scotch whiskeys of this brand go through. In fact, the spirits are the only Scottish single malts that are distilled three times. During this process the alcohol content of the liquid increases from 8% to 81%. As a result, the fruit and citrus notes and later also the woody aroma of the oak barrels are more effective. The multi-award winning Auchentoshan Three Wood has its name not by chance: It matured first in American bourbon barrels, then in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks and then in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. After ten years of storage, the Auchentoshan Three Wood is finally bottled at a drinking strength of 43% in 70cl bottles.

Although the Ole Smoky distillery only exists since July 2010, it is based on a long-lasting tradition of whiskey distillers. The family of its founder Joe Baker was among the first to settle in the Smoky Mountains. Here the company still resides today. After the state of Tennessee abolished the prohibition laws, the family saw their chance to make their traditional businesses official. The result is a Moonshine, which is strong in taste, but also characterized by a gentle drinking experience and also has an excellent finish. It is believed that the name Moonshine derives from the English term "Moonraker", the name for a smuggler. Originally, he described privately distilled, illegal spirits that were produced during the prohibition period.Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine Original comes - in accordance with this tradition - in the jar and should, according to the manufacturer, exactly from this be enjoyed. So put the glasses back in the cupboard and indulge in this truly nostalgic experience.

Ole SMOKY Tennessee MOONSHINE BUTTER PECAN Whisky 50 cl / 17.5 % USA The buttery caramel flavors of roasted pecans can now be found in the Ole Smoky Butter Pecan. Silky on the palate, it leaves a sweet taste in the whiskey. Shown here in the Ole Smoky 50cl canning jar. Whiskey has been produced in Tennessee for centuries, but because of few licenses, most producers produced illegally - these spirits are called moonshines. However, when the recession hit the U.S. in 2008, several states were looking for a way to expand job openings and maintain tax revenues. One option to accomplish both was to relax laws around liquor distilleries. Since 2010, the Ole Smoky Distillery, also known as "The Holler," at the foot of the Smoky Mountains, has attracted many visitors and has been the most visited distillery in the United States since its inception. Now, with the help of Master Distiller Dave Pickerell, the company produces 15 different varieties of Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine in its two branches, distilled according to a 100-year-old family recipe and with local ingredients, and sold in traditional preserving jars. The Ole Smoky Butter Pecan is made with butter, cream, caramel and roasted pecans.

It is thanks to the efforts of the Walsh couple that the Irishman Single Malt Whiskey exists with its clearly noticeable Bourbon and Sherry influences. The family-run Walsh Whiskey Distillery is located on an estate called Royal Oak in Ireland. Surrounded by a fertile mosaic of cultivated fields and lush green meadows, Irishman Whiskey has been produced here since 2007. Triple distilled and stored in both Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, the whiskey follows a more typical production approach. The scent is fruity with a hint of vanilla, the taste reveals notes of crunchy muesli, roasted almonds, honey, cookies, apricots and vanilla. Of course, the oak facets due to the wood are also present. All in all, the influences of the perennial interaction with the bourbon and sherry barrels shine through perfectly.

MONKEY SHOULDER Original Smooth and Rich Blended, MALT Scotch Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland MONKEY SHOULDER Orriginal Smooth and Rich Blended, MALT Scotch Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland This whiskey from William Grant was created from three malt whiskeys. It is especially suitable for drinks and cocktails of various kinds. The "Monkey Shoulder" is a combination of three malt whiskeys and is blinded by 27 bourbon casks. It is a fruity malt with fine apricot aromas and vanilla tones. The name "Monkey Shoulder" is to be understood as a reminiscence of an old tradition: years ago, the distillery workers had to turn the sprouting barley each time with shovels in laborious handwork. This hard work made aching shoulders and the poor hung low, almost like a chimpanzee. These transient ailments were referred to as monkey shoulder.

The DALMORE King Alexander III Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland In 1263, Colin of Kintail, Chief of the Clan Mackenzie, took a bold decision to stand up and be counted, and felled a charging stag which attacked King Alexander III of Scotland. When descendants of the Mackenzie Clan took over the ownership of The Dalmore distillery in 1867, they continued to honour this brave act and proudly put the 12-pointed Royal Stag on the bottle. To this day, the Stag still adorns each and every bottle of The Dalmore. To celebrate the pioneering and innovative values of the Mackenzie Clan, our Master Distiller has painstakingly created the only single malt in the world to unite a unique six cask finish for one outstanding achievement. Spirits matured in ex-bourbon casks, Matusalem oloroso sherry butts, Madeira barrels, Marsala casks, Port pipes and Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques are combined in perfect harmony to create a uniquely complex, yet smooth single malt. Säntis Malt Appenzeller Single Malt Whisky HIMMELBERG 70 cl / 43 % Schweiz The secret of Edition Himmelberg lies in its maturation in different barrels. After two years in the oak beer kegs, two more years follow in different wine barrels. This maturation gives the whiskey a light and fruity note, which shows on the palate its true face with spicy and woody aromas. At the foot of the Alpstein are the hidden cellars of the Locher family, where the Säntis Malt matures. In 1886, the family took over the brewery in Appenzell, which is still brewery and distillery today. Brewmaster Karl Locher with the production of Säntis Malt. The brewery Locher AG came on the market in 2002 with the first products and entered the history books as a pioneer of Swiss whiskey production. Spicy barley, pure spring water from the Appenzeller mountains and the careful development in up to 130-year-old oak beer barrels give the single malt whiskey the only flavor and its award-winning quality.

A whiskey from the Bernese Oberland, which comes up with slightly woody notes, coffee and chocolate tones, malt, caramel and vanilla bean. Alcoholic beverages have been brewed and distilled in the Interlaken area since as early as 1866. The mystical rock cellar was built a few years later specifically for barrel storage and since 1892 the business has been in the hands of the Hofweber family. It wasn't until 1999 that the brewery, now known as Rugenbräu AG, was allowed to produce whiskey for the first time - and immediately took advantage of the new opportunity that arose. In 2008, they presented the first single malt whisky, which is now called "Classic" due to the extensive range. The Double Barrel Whisky is also distilled in the discontinuous pot still process and then stored in the historic Rugen rock cellar. It is obvious that the maturation takes place in two different types of barrels, although the manufacturer is cagey about this. The single malt is described as a "gentle whiskey with a typical vanilla note and light maltiness.

Port Ellen JOHN MILLROY Selection 1982 - 23 Year Single Malt Whisky 70 cl / 56.8 % Schottland The Port Ellen distillery was founded in 1825 by Alexander Kerr Mackay in Port Ellen on the Scottish island of Islay and became the property of John Ramsay in 1836. In 1920 Iain Ramsay of Kildalton, a nephew of John Ramsay, sold the distillery to James Buchanan and Co. and John Dewars and Sons Ltd. who merged with Distillers Company Limited (DCL) in 1925. From 1929 the distillery was closed for the first time. After modernization and doubling the number of stills from two to four, the distillery was reopened in 1966. In 1973 an extremely spacious malt house was added, which still supplies Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Lagavulin and partly Bunnahabhain, Kilchoman and Laphroaig. The peat used comes from nearby Castlehill Moor. In May 1983 the Port Ellen distillery was closed again. In 1987 it was sold to United Distillers (UD) and parts of the plant were dismantled. The license for the production of whisky, which was held by Low, Robertson and Co until 1992, has not existed since then. A reopening is therefore impossible. The distillery was largely demolished, the existing warehouses were used by Lagavulin for many years and Port Ellen is now a closed distillery.Until the shutdown the water from the Leorin Loch was used for production. With a mash tun of over 5.5 tons and eight wash backs totalling 240,000 liters, two wash stills of 28,000 liters each and two spirit stills of 25,000 liters each, an output of 0.8 million liters was achieved.Old original bottlings from the distillery are becoming increasingly rare and can almost only be found on the special auctions of renowned auction houses such as Krüger, Bonhams or Christies, but are subject to increasing price increases. The Diageo group puts the existing small stocks into annual limited special editions with small quantities. Despite the meanwhile high prices, these are usually sold out within a short time and have almost cult status with connoisseurs like Ardbeg, Bowmore or Karuizwa. The single malt whiskies from Port Ellen have a typical Islay-like, slightly peaty aroma, a very smoky taste and an oily finish.

This Irish whiskey makes it up to the world-famous Scottish single malts and relies on a peaty-smoky flavor. The Connemara region of Ireland is a must-see for travelers as it provides an interesting contrast between green valleys with many small lakes, mystical moorland and rugged mountain ranges. The Kilbeggan distillery, on the other hand, is located in the heart of the Irish lowlands, surrounded by a network of pastures, meadows and fields, and is considered the country's oldest licensed whiskey distillery. It was founded in 1757. Close to the Northern Irish border, on a kind of peninsula and only one kilometer from the beach, the company has been running a second distillery since 1987 called Cooley - here come all five varieties of the Connemara brand. To illustrate the origin of the award-winning Peated Whiskey, the 40% spirit was bottled in a green translucent bottle. Their peaty flavor is exceptional in that it is usually the signature for Scottish single malt whiskeys. De facto, the Connemara 12 years Peated is the only Irish whiskey that looks like peat smoke. Anyway, the Connemara not only tastes of peat, but also of sweet fruits, almonds and marzipan.
