Serving temperature: 9–12°C Closure: Plastic cork About PreliusThe Maremma plain in southern Tuscany is a relatively young wine region. Here, Federica Masceroni Stianti, from the renowned Chianti winemaking family behind Castello di Volpaia, has struck out on her own with the Prelius winery. She produces elegant, Mediterranean-inspired organic wines with great care and dedication. Thanks to the unique terroir—sandy sedimentary soils at just 30 to 50 metres above sea level—and the characteristic microclimate, with mild winters and hot summers, the vines ripen perfectly to produce smooth, aromatic and fruity wines. The regionAlongside Piedmont, Tuscany is probably Italy’s most famous wine-growing region. The Etruscans cultivated vines here long before the Romans, making it one of Europe’s oldest wine-growing regions as well. In Tuscany, people speak mainly—and with justifiable pride—of world-famous Chianti and Brunello. In fact, however, Tuscany is Italy’s largest producer of top-quality wines. Blessed with abundant sunshine, cooled by sometimes strong sea breezes and still receiving enough rain, Tuscan vines produce outstanding wines on barren limestone, clay and sandstone soils, as well as various combinations of these, to the delight of wine lovers around the world.Case of 6 bottles, 75 cl each. A family business straight out of an Italian picture book: the Damonte brothers produce quality wines on the estate founded by their father. They share a passion for wine and complement each other beautifully: Massimo is responsible for the vines and Roberto for the cellar. The whole family pitches in to make wines from seven vineyard sites, whose characteristic mineral freshness is thanks to the typically sandy, calcareous soil. The regionPiedmont in north-western Italy (“at the foot of the mountains”) lies along the southern foothills of the Alps. The climatic conditions are demanding: except for the area around the Po Valley, it is considerably cooler here than in the rest of Italy. Short, dry summers give way to foggy autumns and very cold winters. Piedmont’s winegrowers have successfully risen to this challenge: alongside Tuscany, Piedmont produces more of Italy’s top wines than any other region, with unmistakably full-bodied, complex aromas that reflect these special climatic conditions. The red grape variety Barbera dominates, followed by Dolcetto and Nebbiolo, which is used to make the famous Barolo. The vines grow at altitudes of between 150 and 400 m above sea level on a variety of soils, from clay-rich soils that produce a complex bouquet to calcareous sandy soils that contribute to the wine’s robust structure.Case of 6 bottles, 75 cl each. This makes excellent use of the benefits of nature: hillside vineyards with excellent exposure, plenty of sunlight, favourable altitudes with significant temperature differences between day and night, as well as a wide range of distinctive indigenous grape varieties. The soils vary depending on the sub-region of the island: In the west, very lean soils of volcanic origin predominate. No wonder, then, that the most sought-after vineyards for intense, deep, dark and fruity wines are located on the slopes of Mount Etna. In other regions, sandy soils with a high iron content can be found. In combination with an underlying layer of limestone, they give the wines fresh mineral notes.Case of 6 bottles of 75 cl each. Enjoy it with a fine meal or simply on its own!The RegionSouthern Italy's Puglia is one of the country's most productive wine-growing regions. From the spur of the boot near Foggia to the tip of the heel beyond Lecce, Puglia stretches over 400 kilometres. The area is home to most of the grape varieties in southern Italy, around 80 per cent of which are red. The Mediterranean climate and calcareous subsoils with iron-oxide-rich layers above create perfect conditions for viticulture. In the hot, dry summers, the grapes ripen optimally, and the wines become deep, dark, earthy and full-bodied. Unlike other southern regions, there are hardly any mountains here; the landscape consists mainly of high plateaus and lowlands. A wine-growing area with enormous potential – the possibilities offered by the countless indigenous grape varieties are far from fully explored. Even today, Puglia produces some of the highest-quality wines, renowned for their intensity and richness, with the finest qualities grown on the Salento peninsula.Case of 6 bottles of 75 cl each. Here, Federica Masceroni Stianti, from the renowned Chianti winemaking family of Castello di Volpaia, has struck out on her own with the Prelius estate. Carefully and passionately, she produces elegant, Mediterranean-inspired organic wines. Thanks to the unique terroir – sandy sedimentary soils at just 30 to 50 m above sea level – and the typical microclimate with mild winters and hot summers, the vines ripen perfectly, resulting in supple, aromatic, and fruity wines. The RegionAlongside Piedmont, Tuscany is arguably Italy's most famous wine-growing region. Long before the Romans, the Etruscans cultivated vines there; it is therefore one of the oldest wine-growing areas in Europe. When speaking of Tuscany, people primarily – and with justified pride – refer to the world-famous Chianti and Brunello. In fact, however, Tuscany is Italy's largest supplier of premium wines. Blessed with plenty of sunshine, cooled by occasionally strong sea breezes, and yet provided with sufficient rainfall, Tuscan vines grown on barren limestone as well as clay and sandstone soils and various combinations thereof yield outstanding quality, which wine lovers all over the world rave about.Case of 6 bottles of 75 cl each. Montes Alpha Chardonnay DO 2023 White Wine – A balanced, full-bodied golden wine with aromas of ripe exotic fruits such as mango and melon, accompanied by hints of honey and pepper. A long finish makes the wine a lasting sensory experience.Profile Grape variety: Chardonnay Region: ACONCAGUA REGION Vintage: 2023 Alcohol: 14% vol. Serving temperature: 9 - 12°C Closure: Cork About MontesA statue of a guardian angel stands in every Montes wine cellar as a good luck charm. It has accompanied top winemaker Aurelio Montes, an outstanding personality, since the company's founding and keeps a protective hand over the wonderful wines. It is not only for this reason, but also thanks to his instinct for new terroirs and top-class wines, that Aurelio Montes has made it onto the international wine map. He discovered Chile's potential and produces wines of the highest quality. Today, the Montes estate includes vineyards in Apalta, Marchigüe, and the cooler Zapallar. It is family-owned; at the helm is, of course, Aurelio Montes, supported by his son, Aurelio Montes Jr.The Region100 kilometers north of Santiago de Chile, the Aconcagua Valley stretches between the slopes of the Andes and the Pacific Ocean. The Aconcagua River is named after a nearly 7,000-meter-high mountain: the Andean giant Aconcagua is the highest mountain in the Americas. The wine-growing region is located near the river, which brings fresh meltwater and mineral-rich silt from the Andean peaks. The climate here has a characteristic feature: during the day, the dry land heats up. The hot air in the east rises quickly and draws in cooler air from the Pacific. The process reverses as the land cools in the evening. These daily breezes temper the high temperatures and reduce the risk of vine diseases.Case of 6 bottles of 75 cl each. Mavrio Bianco di Puglia IGP 2024 White Wine – A very fruity, balanced, light yellow wine with strong aromas of melon and vanilla, very smooth on the palate, with a full, balanced, and well-structured body.Profile Region: PUGLIA Vintage: 2024 Alcohol: 12.5% Vol. Serving temperature: 9 - 12°C Closure: Natural cork About MavrioMavrio wines are character wines made from the pure Negroamaro grape! They grow in Puglia, in the warm south of Italy, and are subsequently aged for several months in barriques. They then present themselves in full bloom, revealing a dark sweetness and sun-drenched aromatics. Within a short time, Mavrio has become a favorite among Swiss wine drinkers, and wine critic Luca Maroni has already honored these high-quality southern Italians with high ratings multiple times. The RegionThe southern Italian region of Puglia is one of the country's most productive wine-growing areas. From the spur of the boot near Foggia to the tip of the heel past Lecce, Puglia stretches over 400 kilometers. The area has the most grape varieties in southern Italy, around 80 percent of which are red. A Mediterranean climate and calcareous subsoils with layers rich in iron oxide above create perfect conditions for viticulture. The grapes ripen optimally during the dry, hot summers, and the wines become deep, dark, earthy, and full-bodied. Unlike other southern regions, there are hardly any mountains here; the landscape consists mainly of plateaus and flatlands. A wine-growing region with enormous potential – the possibilities of the countless indigenous grape varieties are far from being exhausted. Already today, Puglia offers high-quality wines of great intensity and fullness; the finest qualities among them grow on the Salento peninsula.Case of 6 bottles of 75 cl. Serving temperature: 9 - 12°C Closure: Cork About MariposaFrom the country with the most hours of sunshine in Europe, Mariposa captures the hearts of connoisseurs. Mariposa Roja is Spanish for "red butterfly"; like a butterfly, a colorful drop in the wine landscape, Mariposa shines as an example of quality Spanish wines and inspires moments of enjoyment. The grapes benefit from the dry heat of the Spanish wine regions, while meticulous vinification and storage ensure its very special character. In short: Mariposa stands for uncomplicated, carefree enjoyment. The RegionWith over 1.2 million hectares, Spain has the largest vine-growing area in the world; it is therefore obvious that viticulture is of enormous importance in Spain. Three climatic zones (the green, cool north, the central plateau of extremes, and the hot southern coastal areas) as well as over 600 grape varieties, many of them indigenous and used only locally, make Spain an extremely diverse wine country. Major river veins – the Ebro and Duero in the north, the Tagus in the west, the Guadiana in the south, and the Júcar and Turia in the east – traverse the country and provide water for the vineyards.Case of 6 bottles of 75 cl each. Serving temperature: 9–12°C Closure: Cork About Marchesi di BaroloOver 200 years ago, the Marquises Falletti, former owners of the winery housed in the historic castle, created the “wine of kings”: Barolo. One of the figures associated with the name Barolo ever since is also a pioneer: Pietro Emilio Abbona, an ancestor of the current owner family, made the wine of his region—and with it Cantina Marchesi di Barolo—known around the world. Even today, the wines from Marchesi di Barolo live up to their illustrious name. They are incredibly powerful, long-lived—and have won numerous international awards for good reason. The RegionPiedmont in northwestern Italy (“at the foot of the mountains”) lies along the southern foothills of the Alps. The climate is demanding: apart from the area around the Po Valley, it is considerably cooler here than in the rest of Italy. Short, dry summers give way to foggy autumns and very cold winters. Piedmont’s winegrowers have risen to this challenge: alongside Tuscany, Piedmont produces more of Italy’s finest wines than any other region, with unmistakably full-bodied, complex aromas shaped by these distinctive climatic conditions. The red grape Barbera predominates, followed by Dolcetto and Nebbiolo, which is used to make the famous Barolo. The vines grow at elevations of 150 to 400 m above sea level on a variety of soils—from clay-rich soils that produce a complex bouquet to calcareous sandy soils that contribute to a wine’s robust structure.Case of 6 bottles, 75 cl each.
