DON JULIO 1942 Tequila Gift Pack 70 cl / 38% Mexico This premium tequila is made from 100% Weber blue agave using traditional methods and is aged for 30 months in white oak barrels. It is a tribute to the founder of the company, Don Julio, who began making his tequilas in 1942. Tradition has it that Don Julio Gonzalez-Fraustro Estrada originally produced his eponymous tequila only in small quantities and at the age of 17. It was not intended for sale, but for his private use. Soon Don Julio decided to start his own distillery. His goal with Don Julio was to capture the flavor of the Blue Agave grown specifically for his distillery, which grew for eight to ten years on the mineral-rich clay soil. These agaves were planted with extra space between them to produce an extremely high sugar content in them. After the agave hearts are harvested, they are roasted in stone ovens for three days before being distilled into Don Julio Tequila. The "Don Julio 1942" tequila is then aged for two and a half years in selected American white oak barrels before being bottled in the slim bottle.

The Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak Single Malt Whisky 70 cl / 40 % Schottland The 12-year-old classic of the Macallan distillery matures exclusively in Oloroso sherry barrels. The Old Sherry Oak Whisky spends its 12-year undisturbed aging in Oloroso sherry casks and is the classic of the Macallan Distillery. The barrels are made from the air-dried wood of Spanish trees, which are then filled with the world-famous sweet wine from Jerez for 18 months before making their way to Scotland. The distillery spares no effort in this respect and spends a proud budget for the exclusive production of the casks - which also explains the higher price of the Sherry Oak whiskies. Ultimately it is the barrels that transform Macallan's "New Make Spirit" fresh from the distillery over the years into a single malt with an aromatic mix of dried fruit, oak and spices. To ensure that Macallan Whiskies taste the way they are meant to taste, a six-person Whisky Mastery Team, led by Stuart MacPherson and Kirsteen Campbell, is working to make sure that Macallan Whiskies taste the way they should. Female influences are welcome at The Macallan, as whisky experts Sarah Burgess and Polly Logan are also part of the team.

HENNESSY VS Very Special Cognac 70 cl / 40 % France The Hennessy VS is the standard distillate of the most famous cognac house in the world: Founded in 1765 in Cognac (in German obsolete also known as Kognak or Konjak) by the Irish officer Richard Hennessy, the house is now managed in the eighth generation by Gilles Hennessy, even though it now belongs to the French luxury group LVMH. The Hennessy VS must be at least two years old to be allowed to wear the classification VS - very special. In fact, some of the eaux-de-vie from which it is composed mature for up to eight years in new French Limousin oak barrels, making the Hennessy VS indeed very special! The new oak barrels give the Hennessy VS a very intense tannin note, which makes this cognac a very direct and aromatic brandy that appeals to the senses. More than 40 different eaux-de-vie from Hennessy's cellars are selected according to their respective characteristics and blended into the Hennessy VS, which is bottled at 40% alcohol content in the typical, stocky bottles with long necks. The Hennessy VS is characterized by a clear amber color and an intense bouquet with distinct woody and fruity notes accompanied by a fine spiciness. This aroma is rounded off by a strong, but not exaggerated, shot of vanilla. On the palate, the Hennessy VS presents itself with a body as complex as it is soft, thanks to its base wines from the Grand Cru sites of Petite Champagne. Fruity apricot and peach elements enter into a lively and harmonious alliance with vanilla and oak, which makes the Hennessy VS an excellent cognac also for mixed drinks. The long finish, however, also recommends it for pure enjoyment!

A first class Japanese Junmai Sake "Kizakura" with 15.0% Vol. Sake is a rice wine from Japan. Related to the term sake is "Mirin", a sweetish rice wine with higher sugar and lower alcohol content, which is used exclusively as a seasoning. In terms of manufacturing process, sake is more similar to beer than wine: Before brewing, the sugar must first be tapped. The alcohol content of sake rice wine is higher than that of traditional grape wine. In Japan, the sake share of total alcohol consumption is about 4%. By far the most common alcoholic drink in Japan is beer. Basically, a distinction is made between "Futsu" and "Junmai" qualities in the sake of sake. Futsu sake is a standard quality equivalent to about 80% of the sake produced. Junmai qualities, such as the sake offered here, are superior and are made from polished rice grains.

MUH Gin 50 cl / 40 % Schweiz The fact that part of the alcohol is distilled from milk - and not from grain - is new on the Swiss spirits scene. Muh Gin shows the way: It combines Swiss organic milk with herbal and fruit flavors. Swiss start-up Lumiére des Alpes is usually known for its milk can lanterns, with which Florian, Raphael and Sarino, who are in their mid-thirties, want to capture the customs of their country and interpret them in a contemporary way. The creative sales department also offers bell lanterns, silhouette pictures, lampions, Christmas baubles, candles, scarves and other decorative items that depict typical scenes from the mountain landscape. A gin seems somehow out of place there - and yet the three young men have added the Muh Gin to their portfolio in 2019. The gin is bottled in a simple apothecary bottle with a cork stopper. The label roughly depicts the production process: Muh Gin contains organic milk from free-range cows, oregano, thyme, peppermint, blueberries, as well as lemons from Italy's Amalfi Coast. The gin is produced in the modernly equipped gin, whisky and schnapps distillery at Käsers Schloss. However, the milk is not simply added to the alcohol. Similar to the British Black Cow Pure Milk Vodka, which has been causing a sensation since 2012, organic milk serves as the basis for distillation.
